Purpose of the position:
- Project management of multiple projects at different stages
- Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation
- Post project customer support
Qualifications:
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in mechanical engineering (or equivalent international qualification).
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in machine design or relevant engineering role. Experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with safety requirements of machine design
- Sound knowledge of PLC’s, sensors, pneumatics, servo motors, conveyors and robotic based automation systems
- Knowledge, or the ability to quickly gain knowledge in robotic based automation systems
- Be familiar with manufacturing practice and experience in automation and robotic design concepts
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Project management
- Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages
- Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
- Experience in specification and ordering of purchase components
- Experience in the development of machine manuals and documentation
- Demonstrated skills in document and revision control
- Ability to provide exceptional post-project customer support
Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation
- Selecting tools and equipment
- Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
- Demonstrated ability and experience in machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation
- Ability to assist with prototyping, testing and design validation
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to provide exceptional post project customer support

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- ABB Robot programming
- Electrical Schematics
- PLC programming experience
- Solid Edge or Solid Works design experience
- AutoCAD design experience
- Reckon Accounts Hosted experience
- A current Australian Driver’s License
