Purpose of the position:
- Press tool manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and interpret drawings

Qualifications:
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential.
- Strong experience in workshop machine operations (Manual or CNC)
- Previous experience with welding and cutting machine operation is highly beneficial
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation
- Ensure tools and parts meet engineering requirements, specifications and tolerances for dimension, shape, contour, location and coordination.
- Sets up and operates any machine tools as required in the fabrication of tooling to accomplish work assignments or operations.
- Study blueprints, drawings or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of the operations required.
- Perform regular checks on equipment and maintain them in good condition
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of articles to be manufactured and models to be constructed
- Measuring and marking out metal stock and castings using various gauges
- Shaping metal and wood stock using machine tools
- Checking accuracy of manufactured articles and finished patterns to fine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments
- Testing and modifying manufactured articles
- Applying protective finishes to patterns and painting pattern sections to indicate method of assembly
- Assembling pattern sections and shaping work pieces to specified finish
- Pouring and spreading materials into moulds and over models of patterns, and building laminations of fibreglass cloth and plastic resin to fabricate patterns
- Repairing broken and damaged patterns and correcting patterns to compensate for defects in casting
- Constructing templates for layout and inspection

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience, with the ability to accurately and effectively convey information to clients at all levels
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and build relationships cross-culturally and at all levels, and rapidly establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise workloads with competing demands
- Strong work ethic with prioritisation, time-management and deadline achievement skills
- Willingness and ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment including technological changes
- Be able to work with minimal supervision.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- A current Australian Driver’s License
- Forklift or EWP licence
- Confined Space ticket advantageous
- First Aid Certificate
